Irish Politician, Staunch Protestant, A member in the Irish Volunteer Militia and became a Colonel of the "Liberty Volunteers", befriended many major world figures : George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, James Napper Tandy, Family disowned him later in life-due to his money mismangaement, He died almost as a pauper.
6th Great Grandmother
Daughter of Dublin Lord Mayor - Sir Charles Burton. She married Sir Edward Newenham on 4th Feb 1754
6th Great Grandfather
He was a High Sheriff In Galway
Became instrumental to the formation of the "Roxborough Volunteers" (Militia)
Was a very good friend of George Washington. They even swapped farming/agriculture ideas
Great Grandfather to Lady Gregory (Isabella Augusta Persse)

Became a Magistrate of Galway during the 1790's, many times fighting off 'duels' and threats to his life
Married Elizabeth Persse in 1787 and lived around Persse Estates in Galway

Eldest child of Henry Hood Newenham and Annie Frances Persse. She married Frederick John Hasler in 1872

Believe to be born in Gort, Co. Galway, became a solicitor like his family tradition was. He was the brother of Thomas MacNevin Esq - writer/contibutor to "The Nation" paper. This family had very strong ties to Daniel O'Connell "The Great Emancipator". It is believed that Richard's father (Daniel MacNevin) was, Daniel O'Connell's own personal solicitor.
3rd Great Grandfather
Born Dublin, Ireland. Became a Solicitor and migrated to Australia in 1864/1865 after his Father's death. He married Edith Ashworth Snape in Brisbane. They later settled in Sydney, where Thomas became a person of many high roles within the Australian Legal System. Became a Stipendiary Police Magistrate for many years in Paramatta and also was a Coroner. Wrote a book for future people on how to become a Coroner and many other roles.
